Kyle Freeland threw the first complete game of his career in Colorado’s 8-1 victory over Kansas City. The left-hander allowed five hits, struck out eight and retired 18 consecutive batters during a 115-pitch performance that completed the Rockies’ first series sweep of the season.

Seattle led 6-0 after seven innings behind seven scoreless frames from George Kirby, but Minnesota scored five in the eighth and tied the game on Luke Keaschall’s leadoff homer in the ninth. The Mariners answered immediately, and Colt Emerson singled home the winning run with one out.

Turning Point: Keaschall’s ninth-inning homer completed Minnesota’s six-run comeback and forced Seattle to respond.
