Martin Pérez accepted a last-minute starting assignment and carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning of Atlanta’s 8-3 victory over Washington. The veteran left-hander allowed one hit, walked two and struck out six over seven scoreless innings as the Braves won their fourth consecutive game.

San Francisco erased a 5-3 deficit in the eighth on Osleivis Basabe’s two-run double, handing Mason Miller his first blown save in 29 opportunities. In the ninth, Xander Bogaerts doubled and advanced to third on a sacrifice before Jake Cronenworth fought through a long two-strike at-bat and lined the winning single into center.

Turning Point: Bogaerts opened the ninth with a double and immediately put the winning run in scoring position.

Best Player: Cronenworth delivered the sixth walk-off hit of his career.

Why It Mattered: San Diego earned its eighth walk-off win of the season and continued strengthening its position in the NL wild-card race.
